Underfloor Heating Mat - Specifications
The Klima underfloor heating mat is a 230/240 vac electric floor heating system.
The system is made up of an open nylon mat with integral conductor and resistance cable. The system is designed for use on concrete floors. The total thickness of the mat, including the heating cable, is only 3 mm.
The installation of the under floor heating mat is very simple and it can be laid on concrete floors with normal flexible tile cement. When laying a heating mat on a wooden floor, the floor must be overlaid using a suitable cement face board. See our range of Thermal Boards
The capacity of the Klima under floor heating mat is 150 W/m2. The open structure of the fibreglass net gives excellent bonding within the tile cement. The insulation covering of the heating cable is made from Teflon and the external covering is woven wire braid with a further PVC sheath. Both contact wires are 5 metres in length to facilitate connection to the thermostat and power supply.
Klima underfloor heating can be installed as comfort or as primary heating in large areas. The installation is very simple. First measure the area to be covered and size the mat. Lay the mat out as per fitting instructions and check coverage. Spread a layer of tile cement to a thickness of approximately 4 to 6 mm onto the concrete floor. The mat is then laid into the tile cement with the cable towards the floor. A second layer of tile cement is spread onto the top of the mat and tiles fixed using normal tiling procedures. A flexible tile cement and grout, which is compatible with heated floors, must be used.
In rooms or areas with larger surfaces, an expansion joint must be left at the wall. Under floor heating mat must not be installed under kitchen units, bathroom units or fitted furniture. The mats should be 30-40 cm out from the wall in larger areas.
The Klima FHT thermostat with floor sensor is a simple on/off thermostatic control. KLIMA under floor heating mat is a safe economic, and comfortable heating system, which gives an even spread of heat to the floor.
