Klima Floorheating Cable

The cable system is designed to be incorporated into a Sand/Cement screed only.  The kit comes comprises of the Cable, Spacer strips and expanding foam.  You will require either a digital thermostat (Screwfix code 39460) or Manual Thermostat (Screwfix Code 63141) to operate the system.

The Klima Underfloor Heating Cable is a heating system designed to be incorporated in a Sand/Cement Screed only. The Cable is 7mm thick and can is covered by an inner Aluminium sheath.  The cable is fully surrounded by an Earth wire and is 100% waterproof.

This system is an ideal solution for a new build or extension/conservatory.  The cable distances can be altered to provide a heat output from 100 watts per m² to 200 watts per m²

Suitable Floor Coverings

  • Tile, Stone, Marble, Slate or similar
  •  Carpet (ensuring that the underlay & carpet do not exceed 0.2 Tog)
  • Vinyl
  •  Floating Wooden floors

We advise that you check with your flooring supplier that the covering is compatible with underfloor heating

Kit Contents & Additional items needed

  • Heating Cable
  • Instruction Book
  • 10mm Conduit pipe for housing floor sensor
  • Spacer Strip
  •  Expansion Foam Strip

You will also require the additional Items:-

Digital Thermostat (39460) or Manual Thermostat (63141)

Easy to install

The cable system is designed to be incorporated into a Sand/Cement screed only.  The cable must be covered by a minimum 65mm sand/cement screed if being laid onto foil backed insulation such as Kingspan or Cellotex or if being laid onto an insulated concrete slab a minimum covering of 35mm sand/cement screed must be applied.

A twin conductor cable  with a capacity of 17 watts/m at 230 volts with
2 x 2m contact cable The welded connection between the contact and the resistance cable is marked < SPLICE >. The connection cable 2m length is marked with ******** and may be lengthened if required.

The under floor heating cable is patented world wide and is produced to conform to IEC 800 regulations (ISO 9001) and is CE marked. It is accepted by European approved institutes.

Available sizes:

           Size                Wattage             Screwfix Code

  • 30m                500 Watts                 48299
  • 59m                1000 Watts               55618
  • 100m              1700 Watts               67229

Calculations for Heat Requirements

Normal rooms we would suggest installing the cable at 150 watts per m², for high heat loss areas such as Conservatories we recommend installing the cable at 180 watts per m².

Example: for a 9m² floor surface area Conservatory, multiply the total floor surface area by 180 watts = 1620 Watts – choose the nearest size cable set which in this case would be a 1700 Watt cable.

DO NOT SPACE AT MORE THAN 150mm APART Heating will not be effective!

The above figures are approximate. Heat loss calculations should be carried out to estimate the heat requirement. Insulation, roof height, and area to be covered can affect the heat requirement. To obtain optimum energy efficiency it is essential that sufficient insulation is used in the base. Failure to do so may result in heat loss and impaired performance. Check compatibility of insulation with electric underfloor heating.
